Obituary of Sandra Irene Reisig
Sandra Irene Drumheller was born on July 31, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan. She is one of six children born from the union of the late Edward H. and the late Margaret (Dumas) Drumheller. Sandra lived all her life in Monroe, graduating from Orchard High School.
Sandra married Edward “Whitey” Reisig and from this union came a formation of a blended family. Sandra worked hard to care for her family. She co-owned Our Place Café, working as a waitress, barmaid and also cooked. Her and her late husband Whitey ran the Duck Inn for over 18 years. Sandra finally took retirement in 2001.
Sandra was very loyal to her community. She was involved with the Moose Lodge of Monroe and the Monroe Senior Citizens Center at Mable Kehres where she loved to dance, volunteer, cooking for events including her delicious duck burgers, and supported every fundraiser she could. Sandra was an avid collector of antiques and unique items and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting with every opportunity. She was an amazing cook and often taught others some of her famous dishes. Sandra had many friends. She was always known as the hat lady and would often wear them just to see others smile.
