Obituary of Sonia Wall

Sonia Amelia Skerski was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 16, 1939. Sonia was one of six children born from the union of the late Walter Skerski and the late Amelia (Pokorowski) Skerski. She grew up in Detroit, Michigan and was a graduate of Chadsey High School. After school she settled in the Jerome, Michigan area. Sonia was a homemaker. She had several hobbies including listening to country music, reading, and visiting the casino. Sonia made her home with Bob Wall her companion for more than twenty-five years. Sonia Amelia Wall age 70 of Monroe passed away at Tendercare of Monroe at 11:05pm, Saturday, March 13, 2010. She had been under the care of Mercy Memorial Hospice. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by a daughter: Denise Anna Krey. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters: Karen Ann Vorys of Ohio and Gail Arlene Wood of Monroe; three sisters: Sylvia (Roy) Henderson of Saint Clare Shores, Diane (Ronald) Plumb of Garden City, Jeanne (Carl) Kudla; two brothers: Alan Glumpski of California; Mark Glumpski of California. Cremation has taken place through Southern Michigan Services in Livonia, Michigan. Friends may gather from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street, (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at 7:00pm with Brian S. Merkle of Merkle Funeral Service officiating.
