She later worked eleven years at the Meijer Store in Monroe until a medical retirement in 2008. Working as a cashier suited her personality well. She was a loving person with a warm smile, a people person she easily made friends with others. Mary liked to share her personal life story with people off the street. She was generous and helpful, always willing to give the shirt off her back. Mary's story telling was entertaining and her family joked it was like watching the "Golden Girls". She was dependable. She enjoyed Spending time with her family, but when she wasn't able to she would love to be on Facebook keeping in touch. Mary was a member of Raisinville Baptist Church.
