Obituary of Patrick Lewis

Please share a memory of Patrick to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Patrick Paul Lewis was born in Warren on December 15, 1928. He was the son of the late Joseph Lewis and Mary (Conner) Lewis. Patrick served his country honorably with the United States Navy. He proudly served on the USS Floyd B. Parks. He often wore a hat with the ship's logo on it. Patrick married the love of his life, the former Evelyn June Farnier on January 12, 1952. He loved Evelyn, whom he called "sweetie", so much that he couldn't pass by her without a hug and a kiss. From this union came the birth of three children. The young couple moved to Monroe to raise their children and he supported them as an electrician. Patrick was proud of his accomplishment of hanging the lights on the DTE smokestack, so that everyone could see them. Patrick and Evelyn moved to Erie in 1990 after he retired. Patrick loved spending time with his dog and his family. He particularly loved time with his four grandchildren, especially the youngest, Calie. He enjoyed time on the computer and playing cards, especially with his many friends. He had liked to take his family camping when the children were younger. Patrick was quite a joker and loved to laugh. He had a case of the "little man" syndrome which caused him to take on others. He always said that he enjoyed a good bar fight. This attitude earned him the nickname of "Banty Rooster". Patrick Paul Lewis passed away at 3:45am, Thursday, November 29, 2012 at St. Vincent Medical Center. In addition to his parents, his death was preceded by sisters: Jane Meadows and Betty Pyles, his brothers: Kenneth Lewis and Joseph Lewis; and his brothers-in-law: Jack and Don.
