Judy Ellen Pridemore September 8, 1948 - November 17, 2012 Judy Ellen Pridemore was born on September 8, 1948 in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of six children born from the union of the late Daniel Cain and the late Goldie (Walker) Cain. Judy was saved and baptized at Franklin Street Church of God. She attended Lincoln School and Monroe High School. She married the love of her life: Kenneth Pridemore in January of 1965. Judy was a faithful and devout Christian. She knew scripture well and could quote it on demand. Judy was a homemaker although she served her family as a nurse, psychologist, and was in charge of the "complaint department". Judy was known to be straightforward, dependable, and loyal. She loved conversation and especially a little juicy gossip. She had a great sense of humor and could always give you a good laugh. Judy loved baseball, was an avid Tigers fan, and enjoyed a bag of peanuts. She appreciated reading a good book, liked listening to music, and loved to crochet, often making ponchos for her family and friends. Judy's family raved about her cooking and her love for holidays. Judy Ellen Pridemore age 64 of Monroe passed away at 6:35am, Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Regency Healthcare Center in Taylor. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by four sisters: Etta Fowler, Edna Schoen, Gertrude Wood, and Minnie Opal Wagner; one brother: Malcolm Cain; and her former spouse: Kenneth. To cherish her memory she leaves two daughters: Tammy (Lindsay) Reau of Dublin, California and Melody (Robert "Hollywood") Engelhardt of Monroe; five grandchildren: Jon (Tara) Hunley, Andrew Hunley, Brette Pridemore, Shelby Sammons, and Halle Sammons; two step-grandchildren: Stephen Reau and Ryan Reau; two great grandchildren: Noah Carveth and Jovi Hunley; a very special niece: Trudy Boes and a red-headed stepchild: Zena Davidson. Friends may gather from 2:00-8:00pm, Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. Friends may also gather from 10:00am until a Celebration of Her Life at 11:00am, Wednesday, November 21, 2012 also at Merkle's. Reverend B.J. McDaniel pastor of Frenchtown Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Procession will follow to Woodland Cemetery in Monroe for burial. Memorial donations for those who desire are suggested to the family or to Monroe Cancer Connection.
