Obituary of Dana Queen

Dana Andrew Queen was born in Dearborn, Michigan on September 9, 1967. He was the son of Donald Irvin Queen Sr. and the late Delores (Bergum) Queen. Dana attended Ecorse High School. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Dana married the former Laura Bolton, on March 13, 1987. The young family moved to the Monroe area in 1988. Dana cherished the time he spent with his family. Dana loved the outdoors. For more than fifteen years, he worked in property maintenance. He was self-employed as a landscaper, but was forced to take a medical retirement after many years of battling health issues. Dana was a jack of all trades. He often used his talents to fix things and enjoyed "tinkering around." Dana also loved to take long walks and ride his bicycle. Dana Andrew Queen Sr., age 45, of Monroe passed away at 2:12pm on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Mercy Memorial Nursing Center. His passing in addition to his mother: Delores (Bergum) Queen was preceded by paternal grandfather: Lester Queen; and maternal grandparents: Elmer and Beatrice Bergum. To cherish his memory Dana leaves his wife: Laura Queen of Madison Heights; his father: Donald Queen of Monroe; a daughter: Amber Queen of Warren; a son: Dana Andrew Queen Jr. of Taylor; two brothers: Doug (Charleen) Queen of Brownstown and Donald Queen of Newport. A private gathering was held for family. Cremation rites will take place through Southern Michigan Services in Livonia, Michigan. A private Memorial Service will take place on Saturday; November 17, 2012. Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 has been entrusted with his arrangements.
