Obituary of James Dale Thomas
James Dale Thomas was born on September 7, 1959 in Monroe. One of seven children born from the union of the late Richard Dale Thomas and Joyce Ann (Brown) Thomas, James was raised in Maybee, where he loved to play America’s pastime of baseball. He attended Monroe High School and graduated with the Class of 1977. James spent most of his career in sales, selling plumbing supplies, janitorial supplies and logistics services.
James and two of his brothers were proud to say that they had begun their own business known as Commodity Logistics. For the past four years, James was employed as the Director of Business Development for Saddlecreek Logistics.
James married Valerie Morris and from this union came the birth of one son: Tyler. He later would marry, the love of his life, Jennifer Hopkins on February 2, 1991 at the Good Shephard Lutheran Church where he had been previously baptized. The couple would be blessed with the birth of a son: Austin. James cared deeply for his family and was a devoted husband and father. He was an avid outdoorsman and looked forward to weekly golf in Dundee.
He enjoyed the finer things, among which included quality time with wife: Jennifer, vacations with family and quiet evenings with his dog lucky.
