Obituary of Johnny Massingo

Johnny L. Massingo was born on March 29, 1984 in Monroe, Michigan. He was the son of Daniel and Debra (Carr) Massingo. Johnny attended Monroe High School. He was a good and kind hearted person. Johnny had a heart of gold and enjoyed helping others. He liked to assist neighbors, friends, and relatives with odd jobs and perform yard work. It was said he would do anything for anyone. Johnny enjoyed socializing with others. He was an expert at detailing automobiles and often helped his father at the family owned car wash, Massingo's on East Elm Avenue. Johnny loved to stay active, whether playing pick-up games of basketball with friends or just hanging out. Although, Johnny, always seemed to be on the go, he had a passion for the serenity of fishing, and he actually loved teddy bears. Johnny L. Massingo age 28 a lifelong Monroe resident passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, November 12, 2012. His passing was preceded by his maternal grandparents: Charles and Agnes Carr; an uncle: Donald Carr; and a nephew: Ryan Barath. His memory will forever be cherished by his loving parents: Daniel and Debra Carr of Monroe; grandmother: Helen Massingo; step-sister: Jennifer O'Neil and many aunts, uncles, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may gather on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 from 2:00pm until 5:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will follow at 5:00pm with the Reverend Karl Fuhlbrigge, Visitation Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Cremation rites will follow through Roselawn Memorial Park Crematory in LaSalle. In lieu of flowers memorial donations for those who desire are suggested to the Massingo Family to assist with Johnny's funeral expenses.
