Obituary of John Anthony Easter
John Anthony Easter was born on January 30, 1977 in Monroe Michigan. He was the only son of Anthony and Linda (Standifer) Easter. He graduated with the class of 1995 at Monroe High School. John married the love of his life, the former Barbara Haut on April 27, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maybee, Michigan.
He supported his family through employment at Walmart, working in the maintenance department for over nine years. John had a passion for music, especially Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen. His love for Bob Dylan allowed him to learn the ins and outs of his music, including when each of his songs came out. John considered himself a smart shopper, always looking for the best deal along with shopping at goodwill.
He loved nothing more than spending quality time with family. They often would travel to the many Michigan Lighthouses, Frankenmuth for their famous chicken dinners and Mackinaw Island to eat dinner at Audi’s. Johns favorite part about traveling was being by the water and watching the sunsets. He was a fun, easy going, happy and full of jokes. He was a great man and was truly someone you would want to know.
To cherish his memory, John leaves behind his beloved wife: Barbara Easter of Newport; his parents: Anthony and Linda Easter of Monroe; his mother in law: Barbara F. Haut of Monroe; a brother in law: Robert Haut Jr. of Monroe; three sisters in law: Kathy (Mike) Washington of Belleville, Diane (the late Steve) Burns of Grayson, Kentucky and Sharon Mendoza of Dundee. He is also survived by many extended family and friends.
Friends may gather on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 2:00pm until 7:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan (734)384-5185. A Celebration of John’s life will follow at 7:00pm also at Merkle’s with Deacon George Cousino of Divine Grace Parish officiating.
