Obituary of Craig John Liford

Craig John Liford was born in Monroe, Michigan on June 14, 1960. He was one of two children born from the union of John and Shirley (Saul) Liford. Craig married the love of his life, Adair Giznsky on July 29, 1983. They were happily married for 34 years and had three beautiful children. Adair left this life on March 18, 2017 to be with the Lord our Savior.

To support the family, Craig worked at Food Town until Kroger took over for 30 plus years until 2009 when he retired. He was a family man; he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his twin granddaughters: Ruthie and Rylie Liford. Craig had a passion for music, classic rock to be exact. His favorite band was the Rolling Stones. He had attended one of their concerts in his younger years and from that point on he couldn’t get enough of their music. He has attended a few of their shows over the years.

Craig John Liford, age 57 of Newport passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at ProMedica Monroe Skilled Nursing Center. His passing was preceded by his wife: Adair Liford; his maternal grandparents: Roy and Ruth Saul; and his paternal grandparents: Roy and Stacy Liford.

To cherish his memory, Craig leaves two sons: Michael (Lindsey) Liford of Erie and Seth Liford of Newport; a daughter: Abigail Liford of Newport; his parents: John and Shirley Liford of LaSalle; a brother: Gary (Jennifer) Liford; his two grandchildren: Ruthie and Rylie Liford of Erie; niece and nephew: Jessica Liford and Jacob Liford; great niece and nephew: Evyn Liford and Emma Liford, and many extended family and friends.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation will be taking place with no public services. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted Merkle Funeral Service; 2442 North Monroe Street (734)384-5185.
