Obituary of Misty Ann Grigsby
Misty Ann Grigsby, 34-years-young, went home to her Lord on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, peacefully after her valiant fight with cancer. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried her through her last hours.
Misty was born in Fort Ogelthorpe, Georgia to Thomas and Linda Womack on November 4, 1982. She is the eldest of three children - sister, Teila and brother, Thomas - who reside in Rossville, GA.
Misty and Billy married in Georgia on January 17, 2005. After the birth of their children they moved to Monroe, Michigan; Billy's hometown. Misty was a valued and beloved employee at Custer elementary school where all of her children attended.
After her diagnosis in 2016, Misty began her 17 month battle with cancer. Through it all she continued to fight and have unwavering faith in God. After giving her all to fighting she surrendered her life over to God, knowing he was leading her into a place of peace.
Misty was a devout Christian and a firm believer in Christ. She attended Monroe Missionary Baptist Church. She was the backbone of her family and the rock that kept Billy pressing on. She was supportive, encouraging, and strong in only the way she could be. Misty’s outgoing personality made it easy for her to make friends wherever she went.
To cherish her memory she leaves her beloved husband: Billy of Monroe; three children: Jordan, Bailey, and Makenzie Grigsby all of Monroe; her parents: Thomas and Linda (Pell) Wolmack of Rossville, Georgia; grandmother: Barbara Coyne; her father and mother-in-law: Marc and Julie Iocoangeli of Monroe; brother: Thomas Wolmack Jr. of Rosville; sister: Teila (Matt) Brannon of Rossville; Nephews Malachi, Levi, and Eli Brannon, Her husband side of family sisters-in-law: Devin Grigsby, Natalie Chase, and Katie Iocoangeli; Andrea Browser, Kelli Rowe and brother in law Steven Grigsby and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm-8:00pm on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at 11:00am on Saturday, August 12 also at Merkle’s with Reverend Bobby Smith pastor of Grape Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Procession will follow to LaSalle Township Cemetery for burial.
