Please share a memory of Elizabeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Elizabeth Jane Gaynier was born in Monroe, Michigan on October 18, 1921. Elizabeth was one of nine children born from the union of the late Ezra Gaynier and the late Ada (Duvall) Gaynier. She attended St. Mary's Academy in Monroe and graduated with the top of her class in 1938.
After a lengthy courtship Elizabeth eloped to Indiana to marry, Robert Wallin on August 9, 1941. They later had an official exchange of nuptials in Monroe on January 21, 1942.
For some time the young couple with son Barry lived in Boston. Robert would serve in the Navy in the Pacific Theatre. They moved to the Redford Area in 1954. Robert served as the Manager of the Mulligan and then later the Krug Lincoln Mercury Dealerships. Elizabeth would serve as a homemaker. She was referred to by her children as very crafty. She enjoyed sewing, and she made beautiful stained glass. She was also a pro in the kitchen. Whether it was cooking or baking her creations brought delight to those she served. Elizabeth was also an avid reader. Her favorite books were those by Nora Roberts an author for whom she had collected all of her volumes.
