Obituary of Everett "David" Kimberlin
Everett David Kimberlin was born in Monroe, Michigan on January 23, 1947. He was the oldest of two children born from the union of the late Everett Lee Kimberlin and the late Jennie Maxine (Cloum) Kimberlin. Dave attended Monroe Public Schools graduating from the high school with the Class of 1965. He later furthered his education at Monroe County Community College earning an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Dave married the former: Sheila Lynn Lovitt on April 23, 1966 in Monroe. From this union the couple was blessed with the birth of one daughter: Michelle. Dave enlisted in the United States Navy and honorably served his county during Vietnam from 1966 to 1970.
Following his discharge, Dave worked for several different employers before settling at Ford Motor Company in the early 1970’s. He worked hard as an electrician to provide a good life for his family. Unfortunately, due to poor health, David took a medical retirement in 1995.
Dave enjoyed Bluegrass music. He often attended local Bluegrass festivals and he enjoyed playing the mandolin himself. Dave also had a lifelong passion for automobiles. As an amateur collector, he had been privileged to own a few himself over the years, and proudly still possessed his first vehicle a 1960 Chevy. He enjoyed auto racing whether watching on television or visiting the track for drag racing or slot car racing. David more than anything understood the value of family, and he especially cherished the time that he shared with his three grandchildren.
Everett David “Dave” Kimberlin, age 70, of Monroe passed away at 12:45am on June 21, 2017 at his home. He had been under the care of ProMedica Monroe Hospice. His passing was preceded by his parents.
To cherish his memory, Dave leaves his beloved wife of fifty one years: Sheila of Monroe; his daughter: Michelle (Glen) Nofziger of LaSalle; three grandchildren: Chad Nofziger, Jeremy Nofziger and Zackary Nofziger; and his sister: Linda (James) Johnson of Carleton.
