Glen Carter

Obituary of Glen Edward Carter

Glen Edward Carter was born on September 15, 1926 in LaSalle, Michigan.   He was one of four children born to the late William Carter and the late Alma (Taylor) Carter.   He served his country honorably as a Seaman Second Class in the United States Navy.

Glen worked as a chauffeur for the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe.   It was here that he would meet his future wife the former Mary Julia Valerio whom worked in the laundry room.   The couple was joined in marriage on February 18, 1948, and from this union were blessed with two loving children.

Glen was a simple man but extremely devoted to his family.   He supported them through employment as a Pipefitter with AP Parts in Toledo, Ohio.   After spending more than thirty-three years there he retired in 1984.

Glen enjoyed spending his free time outside.   He loved to camp and vacation with the children and grandchildren.   He had an eye for detail and meticulously maintained his home and cared for his lawn and yard.   Glen enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends and especially his bride Mary.   Their favorite destination was at the Cracker Barrel.
