Obituary of David Tarry

David Kenneth Tarry was born in Toledo on November 9, 1950. He was one of eight children born to the late Donovan Tarry and Dolores (Thomas) Tarry. He was a 1968 graduate of Mason High School. David served his country honorably as a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He attended Northeastern Junior College and earned his Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He married Susan Rood on April 26, 1974 in Toledo. David was a hard worker and an excellent provider for his family. He worked for several railroads including Burlington-Northern in Colorado and South Dakota. Later, David was employed in production for the Chrysler Corporation working at their Toledo Jeep Assembly Plant until his retirement in 1999. David and his young family moved back to the Monroe area from Colorado in 1981. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Post 142 and a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1138. David was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was talented with his hands and had an uncanny ability when it came to wrenching on cars. David was a talented artist and he enjoyed drawing cartoons. He was a huge fan of the University of Michigan Football. He was a member of Monroe Full Gospel Church David Kenneth Tarry, age 61 of Monroe passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at his home. In addition to his father his passing was preceded by two brothers: Dennis and Douglas Tarry. To cherish his memory he leaves two sons: John of Tennessee and Kenneth (Sarah) of Toledo; former spouse and life-long friend, Susan Tarry; his mother: Dolores of Temperance; one sister: Deborah (Michael) Brown of Erie; four brothers: Donovan (Diane) Tarry of Erie, Dwayne Tarry of Cleveland, Daniel (Julie) Tarry of Erie, and Darrell (Sheryl) Tarry of Monroe; one grandson on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may gather at 10:00am on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Monroe Full Gospel Church, 5337 East Albain Road with Reverend Harold Raines officiating. A luncheon will follow for all of those in attendance. Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 was entrusted with his arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
