Obituary of Lois Jane Kominek
Lois Jane Wingate was born on April 29, 1959 in Toledo, Ohio. She was one of ten children from the union of the late Paul L Wingate and Carol Ruth (Moore) Wingate. Lois attended Bedford High School graduating with the Class of 1977.
For several years, Lois, was employed by Bay Corrugated Container as a corrugator operator. She took a medical retirement in 2010.
Lois liked the simple things in life. She preferred to stay to herself, valuing hard work and peace and quiet. More than anything in this world she was most proud of her three sons; all of which became honorable American Soldiers. She loved to spend time with friends and watch her grandchildren whom she deeply cherished. Lois enjoyed antiquing, tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, and collecting Coca Cola Products. She liked to travel and internationally had taken the trip of a lifetime to Scotland. Locally she loved attending Rock and Roll concerts with Deep Purple being her favorite band.
In her free time, Lois often sewed clothing and decorations for her family and friends. She had so many varied interests and enjoyed watching her shows; from silent movies to the National Geographic Channel.
Lois married the love of her life Richard “Rick” Kominek on April 2, 2012 in Monroe, Michigan. Together the couple would share five beautiful years of marriage.
Lois Jane Kominek, age 59 of Maybee passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. Her passing is preceded by her father.
To cherish her memory, Lois leaves her beloved husband: Richard “Rick” Kominek of Maybee; her three sons: Andrew “Andy” Courts of Detroit, Ben (Theresa) Courts of Texas, and Richard “Rick” (Tamara) Courts of Monroe; mother: Carol Runth Wingate of Toledo, Ohio; six sisters: Beverly (John) Rank, Juanita Cornwell, Sharon (Mark) Erdmann, Carolynn (Daniel) Donnelly, Jeanette (Thomas) Miller, and Rebecca (Keith) Blosser; three brothers: Paul (Sheryl) Wingate, Phillip (Denise) Wingate, and David (Kris) Wingate; and seven grandchildren: Alex, Scarlette, Anthony, Giselle, Jasmine, Isaiah and Joel.
No public services are planned. Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 has been entrusted with her arrangements.
