Betty Jane Jereb was born in North Chicago, Illinois on February 17, 1924. She was one of two children born from the union of the late Frank and Mary Anna (Broncheon) Jereb. Betty attended Waukegon Township High School in Illinois graduating in 1942.
She married and loved, Robert Ulrich on July 6, 1946 in North Chicago, and from this union would come the birth of two sons. For more than twenty years, Betty performed clerical work for several different employers including Sears Credit Department, Gift House, Olin Matheson Powder Plant, and Sysco. The family attended St. John Lutheran Church in Barboo where Betty was a member of the Ladies Division E. After Robert's retirement they moved to North Freedom worshipping at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Betty enjoyed bowling, playing regularly into her late 80's. She was an avid reader and often challenged herself with crossword puzzles. Betty could best be described as a loving wife and mother. She led by example with her constant determination, self-sufficiency, and her amazing durability.
