Obituary of Vernon Samuel Gibson
Vernon Samuel Gibson was born on October 29, 1980 in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of four children born in a close-knit family from the union of Eric and Diana (Czupich) Gibson. Vernon attended Waterloo Elementary and Monroe High School.
He was an avid sports fan, and Vernon was especially proud of his hometown teams the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Lions. Vern also loved to play hockey himself participating on many youth roller and street hockey teams over the years where he suited up as the goalie. During this time he had made many close friends.
Due to his upbringing, Vernon always put family first even as he became a man. He was very loving and generous to those around him. Vern often put the needs of others ahead of his own. He had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews, and they adored him as well.
Vern was never afraid of getting his hands dirty. For many years, he was employed in the construction industry. Most recently, Vern supported himself as a self-employed roofer.
