Merle G. Kachenmeister, 82 passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 29 2012 in the care of Hospice of NW Ohio. He was an avid HAM operator (wa8eww), and a Navy Vet. He began his career doing weather for the Navy. He then worked for the National Weather Service where he developed an advanced weather warning system called Skywarn. He later went on to work for various local News channels doing the weather finally ending with WTOL from which he retired. He loved traveling, camping, fishing and doing volunteer work with the Area Office on Aging. He leaves behind his wife of 60 years Joanne, Daughter Debora Handy (Kevin), Granddaughters Stacey Krueck, Erin Krueck and Kati Gragg (Dan). Step-Grandchildren Rik Krueck, Melissa Krueck and Jackie Krueck. Great-Grandchildren Grace, Sam, Aliviah, Cooper, Charlie Sue, Maizie, and Aurora. No Services will be held.
