Janice Elizabeth Burdick
January 28, 1952 - May 29, 2012
Janice Elizabeth Porath was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on January 28, 1952. She was the daughter of the late Lester and Doris Porath. She worked as a medical secretary in a doctor's office for the past 30 years. Janice married the love of her life, Robert Burdick, in October 1986. They settled in Carleton in 2004 after living in Lincoln Park and Romulus for 20 years.
Janice loved to go on walks on the beach, especially on vacations to Myrtle Beach. She enjoyed playing putt-putt golf, sunsets at her property in Carleton, and time spent with her family. Her family was her life. Janice was a very giving and generous person who loved the Christmas Holiday, particularly the "giving" feeling of it all. She was a dedicated and uplifting person who was always there for her siblings. Janice loved her quiet time with her books as much as she enjoyed the chaos of babies and children. She loved babies and having her family together. She adored the character "Eeyore" from Winnie the Pooh. No matter what life threw at her she handled it, with no complaints or grumbling. Janice was definitely her husband Robert's hero.
Janice Elizabeth Burdick, age 60 of Carleton, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather: James Sabourin and a brother: Donald Porath.
To cherish her memory she leaves behind her beloved husband: Robert; three daughters: Regina Karshnock of Carleton, Rhonda Harrison of Carleton, and Veronica (Patrick) Meehan of Newport; two sisters: Barbara Porath and Nancy (Robert) Young; a brother: Gregg (Faye) Sabourin; seven grandchildren: Jessica, Ashley, Patrick, Allen, Scott, Elizabeth, and Nathan; and one great-grandchild: Railee.
