Obituary of Christine Marie Stiner

Christine Marie Miller was born at Mercy Hospital in Monroe, Michigan on August 28, 1961. She was the daughter of Melvin “Mo” Miller and Joan (Wittkop) Miller. She attended Erie Mason Schools graduating from Mason High School with the Class of 1979. She furthered her education at Monroe County Community College where she would obtain her Associates Degree in Nursing, graduating in the top of her class. She married the love of her life: Jeffery C. Stiner on January 27, 1982 at the Monroe County Courthouse. The couple would celebrate in the birth of two children: Jeff Jr. and Kellie. Christine was a devoted wife and mother to her family. She balanced her responsibilities at home with employment at Mercy Memorial Hospital. Christine worked as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit and on 3-South for nearly twenty years. She loved her chosen career and relished in the opportunity to help others daily. Christine took the needs of her patients very seriously and was deeply devoted to their care, always giving the best of herself. In 1997, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Christine continued working eleven years after this devastating news before medically retiring in 2009. In her free time, she loved to be outside and spend time in the garden. She seemed to be happiest when surrounded by flowers and plants. Christine was kind and loving and her laugh was heart-warming and infectious. Recently, she had received the exciting news of her first grandchild. She was anxiously anticipating the arrival of Ellie Christine on July 26, 2017. Christine Marie Stiner, age 55, of LaSalle passed away at 10:31pm on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at her home. She had been under the care of ProMedica Monroe Hospice. Her passing was preceded by her father: Melvin Miller Sr. and two brothers: Melvin Miller Jr. and Gary Miller. To cherish her memory, Christine leaves her beloved husband of thirty-five years: Jeff of LaSalle; her mother: Joan Miller of LaSalle; a son: Jeff Stiner Jr. of LaSalle; a daughter: Kellie Stiner of LaSalle; and a sister: Kathy (Gerry) Freddo of Mentor, Ohio.
