Obituary of Virginia Jo Charette

Virginia Jo Miller was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on July 31, 1930. She was the second youngest of six children born from the union of Thomas Miller and Anna (Grisham) Miller. She attended school in Indianapolis, Indiana. She would marry Joseph R. Charette in Ecorse, Michigan on January 24, 1948. From this union came the birth of one son. Virginia was a homemaker, but she on occasion assisted her husband with his maintenance and cleaning work through Maywood Clinic. She loved to cook and prepare meals for her family. Virginia was quite the homebody, and she often kept watch over the neighborhood from the confines of her windows. She liked to stay up to the wee hours of the morning and then slept until the early afternoon. Although, she could be a little cranky and feisty, Joe always catered to her every need. Virginia never drove an automobile, but she loved to visit her sister Shirley in Adrian with whom she had a very special relationship. Virginia Jo Miller, age 86, of Monroe passed away at 11:23pm on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Medilodge of Monroe. She had been under the care of Promedica Monroe Hospice. Her passing was preceded by her parents; her beloved husband: Joseph on April 17, 2014; two brothers: Oscar “Bunk” Clark and Winston Miller; two sisters: Louise Boone and Shirley Dopp; and a grand daughter-in-law: Heather Charette. To cherish her memory she leaves a son: Joe (Diane) Charette of Flat Rock; three grandchildren: Thomas Charette , Laurie (Todd) Staelgraeve and Heather (Dennis) Vance; seven great grandchildren: Amanda Staelgraeve, Chance (Katie) Charette, Jacob Staelgrave, Brittainey Dancey, Courtney Charette, Haeden Charette, and Emily Vance; three great –great grandchildren including: Jace Arnold, Sophia Dancey and Wyatt Staelgraeve.
