Obituary of Sally Kathryn Souva
Sally Kathryn Souva, 59, of Monroe, passed away peacefully Saturday March 25, 2017 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, surrounded by her loving family.
Sally was born May 31, 1957 in Monroe, Michigan. She was the second child of seven born to Charles and Monica (Wickenheiser) Johnson. She graduated from Woodhaven High School in 1975.
She married David O’Leary March 1, 1975; he preceded her death July 11, 1975. She then married her love, Steve Souva on May 13, 1994.
To cherish her memory are her husband, Steve Souva; daughter Bridgette ( Dominic) King of Garden City, son: Ethan (Emily Gorkiewicz) Souva of Frenchtown; grandchildren: Zachary King, Julianna King, and Kendall King; her mother: Monica Johnson of Flat Rock; siblings: Lynn (Rob) Hogg of Flat Rock, Leslie (Nancy Kukula) Johnson of Ferndale, Doug Johnson of San Fransisco, California, Phil (Shelly) Johnson of Techumseh, Stephen (Nicki) Johnson of Flat Rock; also treasured nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Sally is preceded in death by her father, Charles Johnson (2011) and her sister Julie Ann (Johnson) Winters (1996).
Sally was a loving, creative soul, who loved her family. She enjoyed the beach and took great pride in creating a wonderful “country” home. Her cherished grandchildren were her joy. She loved watching her husband play in his band, her favorites were “Brown Eyed Girl,” and “Mustang Sally.”
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until a Celebration of Her Life at 6:00pm on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe (734)384-5185.
