Obituary of Ursula Rosa Sophia Haakonstad
Ursula Rosa Sophia Huber was born in Stetten, Bavaria, Germany on October 26, 1924. She was born from the union of Joseph and Elsa (Klug) Huber. After Ursula graduated from high school in Germany, she continued her education with a degree from business college.
Shortly after World War II, Ursula met a United States soldier by the name of Olaf Haakonstad. Together they were wed in Anderland, Bavaria and from this union came the birth of four wonderful children. In 1950 the couple would make their home in Monroe, Michigan.
Ursula learned to drive at the age of 52, and then entered the workforce thereafter. A woman of many talents, spent many years as a groomer of pure bred canines as well as working in sales. Most recently, she worked her way up to management at Sacks 5th Avenue Fur Salon in Dearborn, taking retirement in 1993.
Ursula had a love for every living creature and had rescued numerous animals over the years. Those that knew Ursula, loved her. She had a radiant personality and always presented herself well with her fashion sense. She was intelligent, intuitive, artistic, the go to when it came to interior decorating.
