Obituary of Rose Marie Huey

Rose Marie Dalrymple was born in Detroit on August 18, 1939. She was one of seven children born to William and Alveena (Beagle) Dalrymple. She was raised by her aunt Sadie Juckett attending Dundee Schools. She later proudly obtained her GED For several years, Rose worked at Milan Plastics. She married the love of her life: Gary Neil Huey on July 5, 1975. The couple lived throughout the country moving as far as Alaska before coming back to Michigan to be near family. Rose worked in the fast food industry serving as a Supervisor and Assistant Manager at Carl Jr.’s and later Arby’s. She was a past member of Trinity Lutheran Church and current member of East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Monroe Senior Citizens where she had also been employed part-time. Rose enjoyed collecting cookbooks and recipes, and creating wonderful meals for her guests, she loved to cook for Gary, with Japanese being one of his favorite cuisines. Rose enjoyed completing crafts and was gifted at crocheting and quilting. She handmade her granddaughter, Martee several beautiful dresses and would even make matching dresses for Martee’s dolls. Her creations often became treasures to others as she freely shared her work. For some time, she had provided crocheted hats and scarves to needy children through the senior center. Her dedication touched the lives of 100 youth in the first year alone! Rose Marie Huey, age 77, of Monroe passed away at home on Saturday, March 4, 2017. Her passing was preceded by her parents; husband: Gary on April 18, 1998; brothers: William and Albert Dalrymple; four brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and great grandson: Jarrett David Hoffman. To cherish her memory, Rose leaves four children: Roxanne (Gary) Walker of Monroe, Rex (Sandy) Seegert of Escanaba, Renae (Richard) Gloff of Dundee, and Robin Seegert of Rose City; four sisters: Patricia Kirsch and Sharon Ketterer both of Florida, Carol Ann Blue of Detroit and Patsy Prajzner of Dundee; twelve grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren; and her special friend: Ted. Friends may gather on Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 2:00-8:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service; South Monroe,14567 South Dixie (734) 241-7070. She will lie in state from 9:00am until funeral services at 10:00am, Monday, March 13 at East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church, 6272 West Albain. Pastor Curtis Garland will officiate. Graveside services will follow at 2:00pm at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Memorials are suggested to East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church. Online guests at www.merklefs.com.
