Obituary of Jimmie Ardell Holmes Jr
Jimmie Ardell Holmes Jr. was born on Monday, July 27, 1970 in Detroit, Michigan. He was one of two children born from the union of Jimmie Sr. and the late Lillian (Branham) Holmes.
Jimmie married the love of his life, the former Kelly S. Whiting on July 27, 1991 in Imlay City, Michigan. From this union, came the birth of three girls. He helped to support his family as a roofer during the warmer months. Jimmie loved his family and enjoyed having his daughters participating with him in one of his many hobbies. He was a kind man with a heart of gold, always willing to help those in need.
Jimmie was a true outdoorsman, enjoying the thrill of the hunt and reeling in fish, no matter what the weather conditions were. He enjoyed baseball and softball, regularly playing on leagues over the summer months. In his free time, Jimmie could be found working outside, chopping wood and wrenching on cars.
Jimmie Ardell Holmes Jr, age 46, of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly at 6:05am on Friday March 3, 2017 at Beaumont Hospital, Trenton from complications sustained in an automobile accident. In addition to his mother, Lillian Holmes in 1975, Jimmie was preceded by his half sister: Fatima Fletcher.
To cherish his memory, Jimmie leaves his loving wife of twenty-five years: Kelly Holmes of Monroe; their children: Kaitlyn Holmes, Lillian Holmes, and Cassidy Holmes of Monroe; his father: Jimmie (Rebecca) Holmes Sr. of Newport; sister: Cherie (Mark) Cherney of Monroe; half-brothers: Steven (Christa) Holmes of Monroe and Larry Holmes of Newport; and many friends.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe, 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe (734)384-5185. A celebration of his life will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 also at Merkle’s, with Pastor Joseph Amini of 2/42 Community Church in Brighten, Michigan officiating.
