Steven Ray McNaughton was born on November 1, 1967 in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Steven was one of seven children born from the union of the late Cleon John McNaughton Jr. and the late Donna C. (Brown) McNaughton. He attended schools in the Willow Run district. In 1991 Steven married Rebecca McBee. Steven had served with his father Cleon as a member of the Gratis Volunteer Fire Department in Butler County, Ohio. He enjoyed this opportunity to serve his community for many years. Steven was a past member of the Ypsilanti Church of God, Mountain Assembly. Although, Steven was never blessed with his own children he didn't miss a beat in making his nieces and nephews his own. Spending time with them and spoiling them with gifts was his responsibility. Steven enjoyed building model cars, and spending time on the computer. He could often be found chatting on his cell phone and calling chat lines. He also would list bingo, coloring, and drawing as hobbies. His favorite pastime of al though was watching movies of which he had an extensive collection. His favorite movies were "The Dukes of Hazzard" and "Tombstone". Steven Ray McNaughton age 41 passed away at 11:53pm, Saturday, October 10, 2009 the Toledo Hospital. His beloved family was at his side throughout his extended illness. His memory will forever be cherished by his family. He is survived by two sisters: Anita (Bradley) Brittain of Port Huron, Michigan and Regina (Benjamin) Stacy of Garden City, Michigan; three brothers: the Rev. Kevin (Ruth) McNaughton of Romulus, Michigan, Stacy (Debra) McNaughton of Jackson, Kentucky, and Tracy McNaughton of Romulus, Michigan; twenty nine beloved nieces and nephews. His passing in addition to his parents was preceded by a sister: Cleona K. King and a nephew: Mason Parrinello on May 2, 2009. Cremation has taken place through Southern Michigan Services in Livonia, Michigan. A memorial service will be held at a late date under the direction of his brother the Rev. Kevin McNaughton Sr. His final rest will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton with his parents. His arrangements were entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. For those desiring to assist the family, donations are suggested.
