Obituary of Ralph Moir

Ralph Wayne Moir was born on November 9, 1933 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada one of four sons from the union of the late George Roy Moir and the late Ruby Bernice (Allen) Moir. Ralph was born a go-getter. He was never afraid of hardwork. While living in Windsor, Ontario, Canada he was in the used car business. Ralph owned several establishments throughout the years and served many families. Once moving to Michigan he worked in mobile homes sales before opening Repo City in Ash Township. He was the owner and operator for the past three years. Repo City performed repair, remodeling, and refurbishing work on mobile homes throughout Southeast Michigan. Ralph also worked the sale of repossessed homes. Ralph always found success at whatever he set his mind to do. He appreciated a good day's work, and he was a self-described workaholic. Wayne was blessed with the birth of three sons: Richard W. and his wife: Nancy Moir of Windsor, Ontario; Lawrence and his wife: Nicole Moir of Windsor, Ontario; and Darrin Moir of Windsor, Ontario; two brothers: James A. and his wife: Gloria Moir of Windsor, Ontario and Ronald H. Moir of Newport. He also had six beloved grandchildren. Ralph W. Moir, age 75 passed away at 12:22pm Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe. He had fought a valiant ten month battle with cancer. Ralph's passing was preceded by his father in October of 1957, his mother in January of 2001, and his brother: Allan R. Moir in August of 2006. Friends may gather from 5-8pm, Thursday, January 29, 2009 and also from 5-8pm Friday, January 30, 2009 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street, (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will be held at 7:30pm, Friday with Rev. Gary Pickrell a member of Victory Temple Church officiating. Cremation will follow through Southern Michigan Services in Livonia, Michigan. In lieu of flowers the Moir family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
