Obituary of Carl Moore

Carl Edward Moore Jr., age 60 a lifelong Monroe resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning August 31, 2008 at Fountain View Nursing Care Facility in Monroe. Carl was warmly referred to by his family and friends as Bosco. He was born August 28, 1948 in Monroe, Michigan from the marriage of the late Carl E. Moore Sr. and the late Betty (Russeau) Moore. Carl and Betty made their home in the Bolles Harbor Community. Bosco enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors. With the Moore family living so close to the water, Bosco developed what turned out to be a lifetime love of fishing. He attended Monroe Public Schools. On June 19, 1981 at the Justice of the Peace in Monroe he married Joan (Wdowinski) Ping. Joan preceded Carl in her passing. He then married Marcia Thornton on February 14, 1998. Carl also enjoyed the company of others. Family gatherings and get-togethers was something that he always looked forward to. Over the years Bosco was employed by various companies as a laborer in the construction industry. During his life, Bosco struggled from complications to diabetes which eventually led to his passing. He was forced to take a medical retirement in 1988. In 2002, he was injured in an automobile accident from which he never recovered. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife: Marcia of Monroe; two sons: Mark and Richard Ping; two daughters: Teresa Ping and Laura (Doug) Oley; two beloved grandsons: Travis and William Ping; four sisters: Frances (George) Berry, Donna (John) Standifer, Cheryl (Byron) Lymond, and Connie (Matt) Lozano; two brothers: Gary W. Moore and Elder Charles (Aurine) Moore. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces. His passing was preceded by his wife: Joan in 1997; his father in 1996, and his mother in 1998. Family and Friends will gather from 1:00pm until a Celebration of His Life at 6:30pm on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street, Frenchtown Township, (734) 384-5185. The Elder Timothy Begeman of the Church of the Lord Our Righteousness will officiate. Cremation rites will follow through Southern Michigan Services, Livonia. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts of love are suggested to the Moore family.
