Gene Eastman, 57, of Newport, passed away on January 28, 2017. He has now joined his adored wife Mikki in heaven, who predeceased him on November 14, 2016. Gene was born on October 3, 1959 to Louis and Theda (Petree) Eastman-Murphy. Following graduation from Central High School in Savannah, Tennessee in 1978, Gene joined the United States Navy and honorably served for eight years. He was very proud to be a Seabee. During that time, he met his soulmate Michele (Mikki) Rogers and they were married on August 13, 1983. Together they had five children. He was proceeded in death by his wife Mikki, his parents, his twin brother John Eastman, his brother David Eastman and his sister Emily Willis.
