Obituary of Pamela Lesley DeGrand
Pamela Lesley Chesterman was born on July 29, 1941 in Colchester, England. She was born from the union of the late Lesley Chesterman and the late Doris (Hayward) Chesterman. Pamela attended Harben Schools in England.
Pamela met the love of her life, Peter DeGrand, a United States Marine while he was stationed in England. The couple was married in England on July 3, 1971. The couple would share in the birth of two wonderful children. The young family moved back to the states making their home in Newport. They received their spiritual nourishment as members of St. Charles Borromeo Church.
For twenty five years, Pamela was employed by the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe as a secretary. She retired in 2008.
Pamela Lesley DeGrand, age 75 of Newport passed away on January 29, 2017. Her passing was preceded by her parents.
To cherish her memory, Pamela leaves her beloved husband of forty-five years; her children: Phillip (Amy Lynn) DeGrand of Carleton and Stephen (Amy Rose) DeGrand of Monroe; her sister: Barbara (Freddie) Burkhart of West Virginia; extended family in England; four grandchildren: Tyler DeGrand, Ysabel DeGrand, Samantha DeGrand and Shelby Pankey (Eric) and three great grandchildren: Owen, Nolan, and Harley.
She will lie in state from 10:00am until the Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00am on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 8125 Swan Creek Road. Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 has been entrusted with her arrangements.
