Obituary of Jeffrey Donald Kesig
Jeffrey Donald Kesig was born in Newark, Ohio on June 18, 1959. He was one of three children born from the union of John and Sandy (Sanborn) Kesig. Jeff was very athletic while attending Cambridge High School in Ohio where he was a pole vaulter on the track team. He graduated with the Class of 1978. Following graduation, Jeff attended auto-body repair school in June.
He enlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably from May of 1980 until April 1983. While in service, Jeff was stationed in Kansas and Germany. He would later make his home in Michigan in 1989 when he moved from Colorado.
Jeff married the former Mistie Rose in March of 1995. The couple was blessed with an only child: Jay. For nearly thirty years, Jeff worked as an industrial machine painter. He took a medical retirement in 2012 after twenty years of employment with Monroe Environmental.
Jeff was quite the character. He had a great sense of humor, with a quick wit, and he was blessed with the gift of sarcasm. He was “always down for a good time”. Even through much adversity he found a way to make light of struggles. He was known for his orneriness but had a heart of gold. Jeff had the best of intentions and was a wonderful and loving father. He was looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild: Kaydence due on March 13, 2017.
Jeffrey Donald Kesig, age 57, of Monroe passed away at 11:47am, Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at his home after a lengthy illness. His passing was preceded by a brother: David Kesig.
To cherish his memory, Jeff leaves a son: Jay Kesig (Katalena Brown) of Monroe; his parents: John and Sandy Kesig of Broomfield, Colorado; a sister: Jill (Jeff) Roberts of Broomfield, Colorado; several nieces and nephews; and his former spouse: Mistie of Monroe.
