Obituary of Jelanie Marie Alley

Jelanie Maria Alley was born on Wednesday, May 6, 1970 in Newport, Tennessee. She was one of two children born from the union of John and Nora (McMahan) Alley. Jelanie attended Oscar A. Carlson High School, graduating with the class of 1987. After high school, she attended Wayne County Community College, studying to work in the medical field. Jelanie was a proud mother to three children and a grandmother of three. She loved her children more than life itself, always taking necessary precautions to keep them out of harm’s way. Jelanie had a passion for music and loved traveling place to place. She had an artistic side that was very apparent to those around her. Jelanie loved to dance, practice yoga, listen to Rock and Roll and attend various concerts at area venues. Jelanie had a zest for life that stood out over most; she was a strong-willed woman that kept her head high always. She developed many friends over the years and had the ability to cheer those around her; affecting them with her contagious laugh and giggle’s. Jelanie Marie Alley, 46 years, of Carleton, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. Jelanie was preceded in death by her son, Joshua A Miracle in 2009. To cherish her memory, Jelanie leaves her children: Janell (Casey) Zieleck of Rockwood and Jace Alley of Carleton; parents: John and Nora Alley of Carleton; brother: Jamey (Dawn) Alley of Monroe; three nieces and a nephew: Jaqueline, Jina, Josephine and James; three grandchildren: Joselyn Zieleck, Zahra Alghafi, Cooper Zieleck; her best friend: Shelley (Mike) Southworth and their children: Melody and Logan of Southgate; and her beloved canine companion: Zeus. Arrangements have been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe, 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan (734)384-5185. She will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in South Rockwood. A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family for funeral arrangements.
