Obituary of Eloise Mary Morrin
Eloise Mary Leckler was born in LaSalle, Michigan on June 8, 1925. She was the daughter of Louis and Pearl (Robideau) Leckler. She was married to LaVern H. Morrin at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monroe on October 28, 1948 with her Uncle Fr. Carlson Robideau officiating. LaVern died on April 21, 1987.
Eloise grew up in LaSalle, attended St. Michael the Archangel grade school and graduated from Monroe High School in 1943. She was employed at Kresge’s, Monroe Steel Castings and Peoples Federal Savings in Monroe. After her marriage to LaVern, in addition to raising her family, she was book keeper for L.A. Morrin Farms and in retirement she worked for Leckler, Inc.
Eloise was a dedicated member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Erie and its Altar Society, the K of C Council 7143 Auxiliary and the Erie V.F.W. Post 3925 Auxiliary. She enjoyed round and western square dancing and was a member of Bedford Square Dancing and Point Place Friendship Rounds. Eloise was also a member of Monroe, Bedford and Luna Pier Water Tower Seniors.
Eloise Morrin, age 91 of Erie passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 at home. In addition to her husband and her parents passing, she is preceded in death by her brother: Louis Leckler Jr.; and her son-in-law: Robert Huebner.
She is survived by her four children: Linda (Paul) Wickenheiser of Monroe, Michele (Leon) LaPointe of Columbus, IN, Renee Huebner of Toledo, OH and Ronald (Tracy) Morrin of Lambertville; her sister: Theone Cousino of Sylvania, OH and a sister-in-law: Marie Morrin of Norfolk, VA. She was also blessed with eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm with a Prayer Service starting at 7:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe 14567 South Dixie Highway Monroe, MI. Eloise will Lie-In-State on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 10:00am until A Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00am at St. Joseph Church, Erie 2214 Manhattan Street with Father David Cybulski officiating. Procession will follow to St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery for burial.
