Edward Guy Malvitz, age 67, of Monroe died at 6:10pm, Saturday at his daughter's home following a lengthy illness. His loving family was by his side.
Private funeral services were held at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum at Michigan
Memorial Park, Huron Township. Burial followed in the cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Brian S. Merkle through the Covenant Cremation and Funeral Society (734) 384-1038.
He was born at home in Carleton, Michigan on May 24, 1939 the son of Edward C. and Sybil
(Guy) Malvitz. He served in The United States Army as a Field Communication Crewman he
attained the rank of Private E-l.
He married Sally Swope on February 18, 1960 in Georgia. She preceded him in death on September 27,2005. Edward had worked as an operating engineer for Local 18 and 324. He worked for Kuhlman Concrete in Monroe and Toledo for thirty years. He retired in 2001. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and sight-seeing especially the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Edward also was avid about watching all of his
grandson Joshua's hockey games. He also spent a great deal of time watching his granddaughters
Ashley and Jenna.
He is survived by three daughters: Dawn Malvitz of Holland, Ohio; Pamela Gallottia of Monroe;
and Constance Malvitz of Gibralter; two sisters: Linda (Ron) Bergmooser of Carleton and Carol
(Dean) Mohr of Jackson; and three grandchildren: Joshua Bussell; Ashley Nuding, and Jenna Gallottia. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents and a son Edward O. Malvitz in 1964.
