Obituary of Thomas Boudrie

Thomas George Boudrie June 9, 1971 - April 16, 2012 Thomas George Boudrie was born in Monroe, Michigan on June 9, 1971. He was the son of the late Melvin Boudrie and Nancy (Pickard) Boudrie. Thomas graduated from Monroe High School and went on to Nursing School to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Thomas valued his career and he loved being a nurse. For more than twenty years, Thomas would work as an LPN for local institutions. He was loving and compassionate and Thomas had a passion for making other people smile. Currently, Thomas was employed by Fountainview of Monroe and his position there was so important to him that he commuted back and forth several times a week to Mancelona where he made his home. Thomas also loved all things outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisher, and enjoyed camping. Thomas was very outgoing. He was a member of the Monroe Moose Lodge and had participated in various dart leagues throughout the community. Thomas loved to cook and to sing karaoke. He was an amazing son, brother, and friend with a great sense of humor. Thomas George Boudrie, age 40 of Mancelona, formerly of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 12:56pm at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center. In addition to his father, his passing was preceded by a brother: John Boudrie; a nephew: Steven; a great-nephew: Calub; and his maternal grandmother: Bernice Pickard. To cherish his memory, Thomas leaves behind his partner: Richard Hartsuff of Mancelona; his mother: Nancy Pickard-Boudrie of Monroe; three brothers: Melvin Boudrie of Erie, Mike Boudrie of Monroe, and Joseph Boudrie of Monroe; three sisters: Dawn Rutherford of Carleton, Cheryl Duvall of Newport, and Heather Clark of Newport; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm, Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734)384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will take place on Friday, April 20, 2012, at 11:00am, also at Merkle's. Procession will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe for burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the family.
