Obituary of Daniel Ray Mullins
Daniel Ray Mullins was born on Thursday September 7, 1950 in Middlesboro, Kentucky. He was one of three boys born from the union of the late Hubert and late Violet (Carr) Mullins. Daniel attended Monroe High School and later went on to attend Monroe County Community College. He was drafted into the United States Marine Corp, where he served his country honorably.
Daniel supported his family through employment with Ford Motor Company as an assembler with the Woodhaven Stamping Plant, taking retirement in 1998. He was a simple man that lived a private lifestyle. Daniel was a good father. Being so close to his parents, he made sure his family knew he loved them. He enjoyed going on walks with his grandchildren and spending time with them. Daniel liked to garden in his later years. He grew vegetables and enjoyed having flowers planted.
Daniel Ray Mullins, age 66 of Newport, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at ProMedica Monroe Skilled Care & Rehab. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents.
To cherish his memory, Daniel leaves his two children: Daniel Lee Mullins of Monroe and Krystle Dawn Mullins of Taylor; his brothers: Stanley (Noma) Mullins of Monroe and Kenneth Mullins in Coldwater; grandchildren: Alyssa McTurner and Tristian Fields of Taylor; and his longtime companion: Darlene Wing of Newport.
Friends may gather on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 10:00am until 12:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street (734)384-5185. A Celebration of His life will be held at 12:00pm with Pastor Tim Iocoangeli of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church to officiate. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for burial.
