Obituary of Clara Mae Osborne
Clara Mae Barber was born on March 9, 1933 in Somerset, Kentucky the daughter of the late Ola and Mildred (Mercer) Barber. She was a 1951 graduate of Eubank High School.
Clara married Franklin Don Osborne on August 25, 1952 in Somerset. Clara had a wonderful, fun personality with a warm inviting smile. She always brought great joy and happiness to those around her with her generosity and ability to make them laugh. She enjoyed bowling and bingo and made many lifelong friends. Clara was an avid shopper and a great gift giver. She was well known at the local stores and they often called to inform her of the upcoming sales.
Clara was skilled with her needlework, cross-stitching, and crafting ornamental eggs. She was quite lucky with the slots seeming to win all the time.
Clara Mae Osborne, age 83 of Troy passed away at home on Thursday, January 5, 2017. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by a son: Joe Osborne and a sister: Jessmine “Jess” Shepherd.
To cherish her memory, Clara leaves her beloved husband of 64 years: Frank; two daughters: Vicki (Bill) Leonard and Sandra (Tom) Swearingen; a daughter-in-law: Eileen Osborne; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Friends may gather from 10:00am until a Celebration of Her Life at 12:00pm on Monday, January 9, 2017 at E. J. Mandziuk & Son Funeral Home; 3801 18 Mile Road, Sterling Heights, Michigan 48314. Burial will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday, January 11, 2016 at Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Somerset. Merkle Funeral Service; North Monroe (734) 384-5185 has been entrusted with her arrangements.
