Obituary of Margaret Ann Butler
Margaret Ann Salmon was born on October 23, 1948 in Toledo, Ohio. She was the only child born from the late Timothy Salmon and the late Betty (Meek) Knox. Margaret graduated from Woodard High School with the class of 1966.
Margaret married the love of her life Richard Lee Butler on September 19, 1966 in Jericho, Tennessee. From this union came the birth of one daughter. She supported her family through employment with Chrysler-Jeep in Toledo on the assembly line, taking retirement in 2007.
After retirement, Margaret enjoyed traveling to various places, recently going on an Alaskan cruise with her friend Kathy. She enjoyed going to casinos, trying her luck gambling. Margaret was very close with her husband and grandchildren; she cherished her time with her family and going on various road trips through the years.
Margaret Ann Butler, age 68 of Erie passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. She is preceded in death by her parents.
To cherish her memory, Margaret leaves her beloved husband of fifty years: Richard Lee Butler of Erie; daughter: Wendi Lee (Herb Baker) Folk of Point Place; and grandsons: Dillon Folk of Steamboat Springs, Colorado and Zachary (Dana Bush) Folk of Temperance, Michigan.
Friends may gather on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 2:00pm until 7:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, Erie, Michigan; 9156 Summit Street (734)848-5185. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00pm also at Merkle’s with Pastor Roy Southerland of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church officiating.
