Obituary of Blondelle Campbell
Blondelle Bolding was born on June 2, 1927 in Detroit. She was one of two daughters born from the union of the late Charles E. Bolding and Cecile (Ward) Bolding. Blondelle married the love of her life, Ronald Campbell on December 23, 1950. From this union came the birth of one son.
Blondelle was a 1945 graduate of Cooley High School. She went on to attend the University of Detroit from 1945-1946 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Education at the Michigan State University in 1949. She helped support her family employed as a Teacher with the Dearborn Board of Education for seven years before moving to Monroe in 1965 where she served as a substitute teacher for the Monroe Intermediate School District including one-room school houses. Blondelle was also employed as a part-time Librarian at Dorsch Library for twenty years.
Blondelle was very involved with the community. She was a member of the Big Brother-Big Sisters of Monroe County before and after the consolidation of the two organizations. She was a founding member of the Monroe Newcomers Club, the Monroe County Community College Faculty Wives organization, a thirty year member of the Monroe Thrift Shop, a thirty-five year member of the Monroe Golf and Country Club, and a forty-year member of a local book club.
Blondelle enjoyed traveling and adventure. She visited all fifty states and a number of foreign countries including: East and North Africa, Scotland, England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand , Argentina, Chile, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, The Netherlands, Nova Scotia, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Sicily, Hawaii, Wales, Austria, Hungry, as well as numerous Caribbean Islands. Her favorite place was to visit was the family cottage in Oxtongue Lake where she spent time with family.
Blondelle Campbell, 89, of Monroe passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Promedica Monroe Skilled Care and Rehab Center. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by her sister: Ferne Hudyma.
To cherish her memory, Blondelle leaves her beloved husband of sixty-six years, Ronald Campbell; her son Kevin (Alice) Campbell of Winnetka, Illinois; and her grandchildren: Bobby, Sam and Maggie Campbell.
