Obituary of James Robert Williamson
James Robert Williamson was born on October 7, 1943 in Speedwell, Tennessee. He was one of eight children born from the union of the late Emmitt Williamson and the late Violet (Berry) Williamson. James was a 1961 graduate of Powell Valley High School in Speedwell, Tennessee and went on to Honorably serve his country in the United States Army.
James married his best friend and love of his life, Pamela Williamson, April 1999. Together they raised two wonderful children. James supported his family employed as a steelworker for Monroe Steel Casting for seventeen years and an additional ten years at McLouth Steel in Gibraltar.
James truly loved his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed hosting occasions when he made his famous soup, beans, cornbread and fried potatoes with green onions. He especially cherished time spent picking on his grandchildren. James had an appreciation for the outdoors in his vegetable garden or enjoying the scenery on long drives in the country. His musical talent was enjoyed by many as he played guitar and sang his many songs that he composed. In his quiet time, James could be found watching his favorite television show, Wheel of Fortune.
James Robert Williamson age 73 of Monroe passed away at 8:50am on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. In addition to his parents, James was preceded by his brother: Ray Williamson; and his sister Asalina Williamson.
To cherish his memory, he leaves his loving wife of forty-three years: Pamela (Roush) Williamson; two daughters: Juanita Jackson and Tiffany Williamson both of Monroe; five brothers: Kyle, Fred, Grover, Danny, and Calvin all of Speedwell, Tennessee; fifteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and one on the way.
