Iva Inez Williams was born in Trenton, Michigan on February 22, 1956. She was the daughter of the late Joel Williams and the late Betty G. (LaVigne) Williams.
She married Milton Moore. After high school Iva achieved her G.E.D. Later she completed her schooling to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. For more than fifteen years she served others as a CNA at Oakwood Skilled Nursing Home. Iva took a medical retirement in 2010.
Iva had a warm smile and an infectious laugh. She made friends easily wherever she went. Iva loved to spend time outside and enjoyed camping. She cherished all the time spent with her family. She also loved to play bingo and go to casinos. Iva also liked to knit and crochet.
Iva Inez Moore age 56 of Newport passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012 at her home. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by a husband: Milton Moore on May 5, 1999; a brother: Ace Williams; and a sister: Ruth Baumia on February 5, 2007.
To cherish her memory she leaves two daughters: Danila (David) Werksma of Lincoln Park and Marie Bowling of Newport, one son: Todd Williams of Newport; four grandchildren: Michael, Jacob, Devin, and Brooklyn; three sisters: Peggy (Roger) Wenzel of West Branch, Claudia Shepherd of Monroe, and Emma Eagle of Newport; and three brothers: Joel (Sonta) Williams of Monroe, John (Gerry) Williams of West Branch, and Paul (Vickie) Williams of Maybee.
Friends may gather from 1:00pm until 3:00pm, Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at 3:00pm also at Merkle's with family and friends sharing memories. Cremation will follow.
The Moore Family especially wishes to thank Dr. Tamer A. Ghanem M.D., Ph.D. and his amazing staff at Henry Ford Health System for their personal attention and love for Iva during her illness.
