Obituary of Frankie Marie Crawford

Frankie M. Gilbert Crawford, 73, of Summerfield, Florida, formerly of Monroe, passed away in the Hospice House of Summerfield on Friday, November 25, 2016. She was born on September 12, 1943 in Harrogate, Tennessee to the late Frank and Nola (Williams) Gilbert. She was a 1961 graduate of Forge Ridge High School, where she played basketball. She married Willis Crawford on May 14, 1983 at Stewart Road Church of God. Frankie retired from Ford Motor Company, Monroe Stamping Plant, as a small press operator. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church of Monroe. She loved to cook and take care of her family members whenever there was a need. She is survived by her loving husband; Willis, of 33 years; step-children: Stormy (John) Hayes, Sonny and Eric Crawford; one brother: Marvin (Cathy) Gilbert of Zionsville, IN; sisters: Thelma Ray of Monroe, Itha Bea Monday of Brooksville, IN and Bobbie (J.C.) Burke of Monroe; grandchildren: Ashley Banach, Jerry Bowling, Autumn Crawford, Justin Crawford, Daniel Crawford, Montana Crawford, and Brian Crawford; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Frankie is preceded in death by siblings: Edith Brooks, Opal Sandefur, Geneva Schackelford, Roy Gilbert, Harry Gilbert, Burton Gilbert and nephews: Daniel Ray, Mark Monday and Donald Brooks; and a niece: Vickie Bausman. Friends may gather from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 and 1:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street (734)384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 11:00am on Friday, December 2, 2016, also at Merkle’s with Reverend Robert Baltrip officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle, Michigan for final entombment.
