Obituary of Hildegarde Margaret Stump
Hildegarde Margaret Schneider, age 83 was born on April 1, 1933 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on November 23, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents Peter Schneider and Maria Katrina (Buddesheim) Schneider, her brother John Henry Schneider and sister Gertrude Stump (Eugene).
For many years, she would work for local companies Toledo Scale, Montgomery Ward, and Lifestyles for Ladies Only.
A woman of strong faith, Bunnie lived by her faith every day. She was an active member of Crossroads Community Church where she happily served as a greeter, a member of the women’s prayer group, and a bulletin stuffer.
Bunnie loved her family, friends, and church family. She thoroughly enjoyed nature, going to the zoo, traveling, and snorkeling. She enjoyed supporting her children and grandchildren’s sporting events. Wherever she went she had a shine about her. Her bright blue eyes would sparkle when she entered the room and she had the ability to see God’s beauty everywhere. “Sunday Fundays” were always a weekly treat for Bunnie. She enjoyed spending time at the lake, watching the bald eagles, and enjoyed her homegrown tomatoes. Bunnie loved listening to music cherishing the time she spent dancing the Jitterbug with her best friend of 70 years, Joyce Remley.
To cherish her memory, Bunnie leaves her beloved children: Don H. (Sharon) Stump Jr., Rick L. (DeAndra) Stump, Cynthia M. Bussell, Linda (Roy) Snyder, two special sons: James (Ronda) Giesken and John Giesken; grandchildren: Jessica (Adam) Cody, Nicole (Ty) Wallace, Joshua Stump, Madison Paige (Tiffany) Stump, Chad Detrick, BreAnne (Michael) Johnson, Natalie (Avery) Gosch, Neil (Kristi) Gosch, Chelsea, Jeremy, and Adam Geisken; great grandchildren: Hayden, Chase, Sienna, Madison, Ty, Zoe, Grayson, Weston, Willow, Brynn, Nicodemus, Brevin, Mical, Avery, Peyton, Jackson and Brynlee.
Bunnie was a huge University of Michigan Fan. She was such a big fan that she was able to fulfill her request and donate her body to the University of Michigan Medical Science. She told everyone that she was “going to college”. Friends are invited to a Celebration of Her Life on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 3:00-8:00pm at the Erie Veterans of Foreign War Post 3925; 1944 Erie Road; Erie, Michigan 48133. Pastor Glenn Teal will share a prayer and fond memories at 3:30 p.m. Arrangements were entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, Erie.
