Obituary of Cathy Ann Hounshell

Cathy Ann Preadmore was born on July 23, 1959 in Lansing, Michigan. She was the daughter of Richmond D. Knight and the late Gloria (Price) Knight. Cathy attended Monroe Schools and graduated high school with the Class of 1977. She would later continue her studies at Monroe County Community College taking business courses. Cathy was “happy-go-lucky,” loved life and was known for her kindness and generosity. Family and friends meant the world to Cathy and she did her best to keep up with them on Facebook. As a great cook, she looked forward to holidays and family gatherings where she served her famous cheese balls and goulash. Cathy had a great appreciation for the warmer southern climate, and for thirty years she made her home in Tazewell, Tennessee. She kept active by fishing on Norris Lake and playing Bingo at the American Legion. In her quiet time, Cathy could be found in her flower garden or knitting and crocheting snuggled up with her canine companion, “Mena”. Cathy Ann Hounshell, age 57, of Tazewell, Tennesee passed away at her sister’s home peacefully at 3:20pm on Saturday, November 19, 2016. She was surrounded by her loving family. In addition to her mother, her passing was preceded by her son: Nicholas Knight. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. To cherish her memory, she leaves her father: Richmond D. Knight; three brothers: Michael (Susie) Preadmore , Johnny (Robin) Knight, and Tommy (Dawn) Knight; one sister: Nikki (Randy) Reeder; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Humane Society of Monroe County.
