Obituary of Kerrie Sue Eastes

Kerrie Sue Eastes was born in Monroe on September 27, 1972. She was born from the union of the late James Eastes and Terrill “Terri” (Mason) Eastes. Kerrie attended Jefferson High School and graduated with the class of 1990. Throughout life she was known for her strong-will and hard-headed personality. She could be argumentative but more so convincing in her ability to argue a point. These traits would serve her well as she continued education at Monroe County Community College in hope of obtaining a law degree. Kerrie was an extremely hard worker and a devoted mother. For more than ten years she provided for her family while working for the Sygma Corporation as a Customer Service Specialist. The past several years, Kerrie had been employed at the Toledo Jeep Plant, the last three for Chrysler Corporation on the assembly line. She married Paul Maenle in 2003. As a mother, Kerrie was very supportive. She was instrumental in bringing the Flag Corp back to Jefferson in 2011. She had a passion for animals currently sharing her home with eleven cats and six dogs. In 2016 she married CJ Friend. She was a former member of the Moose and a current member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary. She was an avid softball player participating in co-ed leagues in Monroe, Carleton, and Maybee, and loved to shoot pool at the Sidetrack Saloon league. Kerrie Sue Eastes, age 44, of Monroe passed away unexpectedly on Sunday; October 30, 2016. In addition to her father: James in 2012 her passing was preceded by her grandparents and a sister: Jennifer Grady. To cherish her memory, Kerrie leaves her mother: Terri Eastes of Monroe; five children: Karalynn Maenle (Matt Mozingo) of Monroe, Hannah Rogge of Ypsilanti, Makayla Eastes of Monroe, Morgaen Maenle (Cameron Bailey) of Peru, Indiana, and Hope Jordan of Monroe; three siblings: Robert Eastes, Beth Korth, and Carla (Ted) Nash; two grandchildren: Dominic Mozingo and Maleyah Bailey; and her close friend: Steve Jordan. Friends may gather on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service; 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00am on Thursday, November 3, 2016 also at Merkle’s with Deacon Mike Hammond of St. Charles Parish officiating.
