Leonard Charles Miller January 2, 1952 - September 16, 2011 Leonard Charles Miller was born in Monroe, Michigan on January 2, 1952. He was one of four boys born from the union of the late Earl T. Miller and Frances (Leonard) Miller. Leonard was a 1970 graduate of Airport High School. Leonard was employed by Guardian Glass in Carleton for more than twelve years. He later worked more than twenty-two years as a Hi-Lo Driver for Ford Motor Company and Auto Alliance at the Flat Rock plant. He took a medical retirement in January of 2010. Leonard married the love of his life the former Tricia Queen on August 14, 1999 in Monroe. Leonard liked "guy stuff"; cars, tractors, and he loved the great outdoors. He was a weekend warrior to their family place in Mio, and he loved to hunt deer and turkey. Leonard especially loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Traveling was a favorite pastime and he and Tricia visited Hawaii every few years. He was a member of the Rockwood Moose, the UAW, and St. John Lutheran Church in Waltz. Leonard Charles Miller age 59 of Carleton passed away at 8:10pm, Friday, September 16, 2011 at his home with his loving family at his side. He had been under the care and compassion of Heartland Hospice and Homecare. In addition to his father: Earl his passing was preceded by a brother: John. He leaves to cherish his memory a wife: Tricia of Carleton; two sons: Jeremy (Sue) Miller of New Boston and Chad Miller of Exeter; stepson: Jeffery Reeves of Carleton; stepdaughter: Brittany Colf of Carleton; his mother: Frances Miller of Carleton; two brothers: Donald T. (Sandy) Miller of Exeter and James "Jim" Miller of Carleton; two grandsons: Jeremy Jr. "J.J." and Kurtis; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may gather from 1:00pm until 8:00pm, Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 where a Celebration of His Life will be held at 12:00pm, Monday, September 19, 2011. The Rev. Steve Perrine pastor of South Rockwood United Methodist Church will officiate. Procession will follow to Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock for burial. Memorial donations for those who desire are suggested to charity of the donor's choice.
