Obituary of Sherrie Bomia

Sherrie Lynn Blair was born in Monroe, Michigan on January 2, 1964. She was the only daughter born from the union of the late Edward William Blair and Mary K. (Thompson) Blair. She attended Jefferson High School. Sherrie worked several years for Midwest Finishing Products prior to that she was employed as the Manager of Burger King. For the past ten years, Sherrie had been a homemaker. Sherrie was a huge fan of Lucille Ball and often said "I love, "I Love Lucy". She liked to collect apples. Her "apple" collection included ornaments, pictures, coffee cups, actually pretty much anything. She was quite proud of her wonderful red kitchen. It was outfitted with red walls, red can opener, red microwave, red coffee pot, etc… Sherrie loved people and especially her family and her grandchildren. She had a big heart, a heart of gold and would often help others and take anyone in. She always had concern for others even when she should have been taking care of herself. She was a unique individual. Sherrie loved to cook but unfortunately her children joked that she forgotten how the past five years. Sherrie Lynn Bomia age 47 of Monroe passed away at Mercy Memorial Hospital on Friday, September 2, 2011. In addition to her father in February of 2007 her passing was preceded by a son on January 5, 2007. To cherish her memory she leaves two daughters: Misty Dawn Valentine and Dannielle Lee Horton both of Monroe; her mother: Mary Blair of Monroe; two grandchildren: William Bomia and Peightyn Valentine with a third grandchild on the way: Dahlia Bain; two brothers: Rockie (Karen) Blair of Monroe and Edward Lewis (Julie) Blair of Monroe; an uncle who was like her brother: Doyle "Beaver" Barboza; and close friends John and Vicki Mullins whom she made her home with. Friends may gather from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 where a Celebration of Her Life will take place at 7:00pm. The Rev. Vic Holtz pastor of Monroe Vineyard Church will officiate. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to the Bomia Family.
