Betsy Ann Roottier March 8, 1948 - November 11, 2009 Betsy Ann Burbo was born March 8, 1948 in Monroe, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Elmer Burbo and the late Beulah (Reaume) Burbo. She attended St. Mary's Academy. Betsy married Lawrence Roottier on October 2, 1965. Together they shared many memories through their 27 years of marriage until his passing in 1992. After Lawrence's passing, Betsy served as the manager of C. Barron and Sons for around ten years. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Monroe. Betsy more than anything else enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandson. Their favorite pastime was playing games together. The most enjoyed games were bingo, playing WI bowling, scrabble, and surfing the internet. Betsy was also a fabulous cook and her cooking always had the ability to bring her family together. Betsy Ann Roottier age 61 passed away at 12:50am, Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by her husband Lawrence in April of 1992. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters: Angela Roottier and Amy Roottier both of Monroe; two sons: Adam Rootier and Arik Roottier also both of Monroe; a brother: Pete (Ina) Burbo of Monroe; a grandson: Mikhail Brown-Roottier; and two special dogs: Meatball and Muffin. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm; Friday, November 13, 2009 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. She will lie in state, Saturday; November 14, 2009 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 502 West Front Street from 9:00am until the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00am. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for burial. For those who desire to send memorials in Betsy's; name the American Cancer Society is suggested.
