William Arthur Schwartz
July 8, 1943 - August 11, 2011
William Schwartz was born in Monroe, Michigan on July 8, 1943. He was one of 5 children born from the union of the late Harry Arthur (Red) Schwartz and the late Elizabeth (Sakala) Schwartz. He served his country honorably as a member of the United States Air Force; Serving two years in Germany and two years in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He married the love of his life Kathleen Deinzer on August 10, 1968 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroe, Michigan.
William worked for The UFCW 876 for 30 years as there secretary/treasurer. William was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. William's true passion was Trap shooting he enjoyed trap shooting at the Dundee Sportsman Club, Wayne County, and also East Rockwood. William also loved woodworking and Traveling in their fifth wheel camper. William liked to get out and go fishing, but most of all he was a loving husband, father, and Grandfather.
William Schwartz age, 68, of Monroe passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Karmanos Cancer Center Detroit, Michigan. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by a sister: Sallie Hahn and a Grandson: Gary Allen Keck.
His Memory will forever be cherished by his wife of forty-three years: Kathleen Schwartz of Monroe; two children: Amanda (Dan) Keck and Ben Schwartz; two sisters: Joan (Leonard) Livecchi of Temperance and Donna Wallace of Dearborn; two grandchildren Gavin William Keck and Gage Joseph Schwartz; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather from 1:00pm until 8:00pm, Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734)384-5185 Where a VFW service will be at 2:00pm. Monday, August 15, 2011 William will lie in state from 10:00am until the Funeral Service at 11:00am at Grace Lutheran Church, 630 North Monroe Street with Reverend Schultz officiating. Cremation will follow.
